Created by “Shigu”, John Burnette and David Krug, Madman is based on the Hallucination prototype shown at E3 2003, with an infected Leon exploring a mansion filled with living dolls and haunted suits of armor. One such prototype has been recreated as a fan-project titled “Resident Evil CODE: Madman”. These prototypes highlighted Capcom’s vision for the future of the franchise, featuring a drastic switch from static camera angles and pre-rendered environments, to the 3rd-person over-the-shoulder look that’s become a gameplay standard in the industry.
